The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has released the notification for Security Assistant/Executive (SA/Exe) recruitment for the year 2025.
There are 4987 vacancies across different states and union territories, and candidates with knowledge of specific regional languages can apply.

The IB has announced state-wise and language-wise vacancies for SA/Exe posts in 37 Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs).

Pay Scale & Benefits
- Pay Level-3: ₹ 21,700 – ₹ 69,100
- Special Security Allowance: 20% of basic pay
- Holiday Duty Compensation: Cash for up to 30 days
Eligibility
Education:
- Passed Matriculation (10th) from a recognized board
- Have a domicile certificate of the state applied for
- Know one language/dialect mentioned for the chosen SIB
Desirable:
- Field experience in intelligence work
Age Limit (as on 17.08.2025):
- 18 to 27 years
- SC/ST: +5 years | OBC: +3 years
- Other relaxations for widows, ex-servicemen, sportspersons as per rules
Selection Process
The recruitment has three stages:

Notes:
- Tier-II is qualifying – need 20/50 marks to pass
- Final merit = Tier-I + Tier-III marks
- Cut-off marks for Tier-I: UR/EWS – 30, OBC – 28, SC/ST – 25

How to Apply
- Go to www.mha.gov.in or www.ncs.gov.in
- Register with your email ID and mobile number
- Fill in personal, educational, and category details
- Upload your photo (100–200KB) and signature (80–150KB) in JPG/JPEG
- Pay the application fee online or download SBI challan for offline payment
- Submit and take a printout for reference
Exam Centres
- You can choose five cities for the Tier-I exam from the list given in the notification
- The city/SIB once selected cannot be changed
- IB may adjust centres based on the number of applicants
Important Instructions
- This post has All India Transfer Liability
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the language of the SIB applied for
- PwBD candidates are not eligible
- Apply only once – multiple applications will be rejected
